What are the best haunted attractions/houses in eastern and western Pennsylvania?

halloween-paWhat are the best haunted attractions/houses in eastern and western Pennsylvania?

I haven't been to a really scary haunted attraction in a while. I am looking for the best/scariest haunted attraction in PA. I heard Rich's Fright Farm and Scarehouse are pretty good on the western side. On the eastern side I was looking at Field of Screams, Jason's Woods and the Bates Motel. I heard that Scareworld Screampark is closed now around the Philly area and that it's not truly 13 floors anyways. I've already been to George A. Romero's attraction in Pittsburgh and was dissapointed because it wasn't scary. Hundred Acres Manor is good near Pittsburgh but not too scary. Please let me know details if any of you have been to any of those previously mentioned.

Horror Hall, which is located in West Nanticoke, PA, is really good. I was there about 6 years ago. If you are looking for an amusement park haunted house, go to Knoebels in Elysburg, PA. This ride has been voted best haunted attraction for several years straight. Knoebel’ has free parking, free admission, and the ride is only around $1.00 to 1.50 to ride. They are only open weekends now through the end of the season. Check their website for details. Hope this helps a little. By the way West Nanticoke is just south of Wilkes-Barre and Elysburg is just south of Bloomsburg.

The Halloween Haunt at Dorney Park in Allentown Pa (eastern PA) is pretty good. Definitely for older kids only as they won’t let anyone under 13 in.

Also the Eastern State Penitentiary outside of Philadelphia host their annual “Terror Behind the Walls” open house. This historic prison is creepy during daytime hours, let alone at night when the haunted house is running.
